"Don’t Worry Baby" by The Beach Boys was inspired by Brian Wilson’s love for The Ronettes’ "Be My Baby," and he set out to create a song with a similar emotional impact. The phrase came from his girlfriend’s reassurance during a moment of self-doubt. Wilson and lyricist Roger Christian crafted a story about a nervous young man comforted by his girlfriend before a drag race, with the song’s soothing refrain echoing her calming words. Initially intended for The Ronettes, it was ultimately recorded by The Beach Boys themselves and became a beloved classic. RIP Brian - 1942-2025
